The PRINTED version of these plans is temporarily unavailable. We hope to have them back for sale in June or July of 2024.

In the forward part of the control console is an ice bucket and cutting board (along with fuel tank storage), and four pole mounts for trolling are built into each corner of the hull. A trolling motor mount is built into the forward railing, oar locks are mounted to the side lockers and tow hooks are bolted into the framing fore and aft.

The Bass Boat is a great powerboat, and the design can be adapted to many uses beyond fishing.

Two seats—using easily removable flotation cushions for padding—are provided with four separate seat mounts, allowing a variety of easily changed seating arrangements. The seats can be mounted to end pedestals on the fore and aft raised decks for high-angle fishing comfort—or they can be mounted lower down in the cockpit for fast cruising out of the wind. Steering can be run from a seated or standing position and the passenger seat in the cockpit can be mounted facing aft for skiing.

Our version of the bass boat theme was designed to provide a simple-to-build, inexpensive, dependable hull with as many fish-getting features as we could build in. The boat is just over 15 feet, allowing it to be towed on popular trailers for bass boats under 750 pounds. And the simple, flat-bottomed hull—with full-length strakes and a semi-V at the chines—provides fast, maneuverable handling with outboard of 20 h.p. or less.

Our BASS BOAT includes an unobstructed, carpeted cockpit with side-mounted pedestal controls, a forward locker for anchor, trolling motor, etc., no less than six side lockers for bait wells, safety gear, engine supplies, tackle and floats; plus four extra compartments for enough flotation foam to keep the boat upright in the case of emergency.

The hull features a unique double side wall construction that not only provides the space for all the side lockers, and the box section framing to allow an unobstructed center cockpit, but also provides three separate watertight sections of the hull, so the sides or the bottom can be flooded and there is still a stable, floating platform.

The Bass Boat is a project which has been built in some pretty far-flung parts of the world, and we have some great photos from builders to share.
